This is our latest innovation in kayak artwork and we think it offers somthing very unique. Our system opens up a whole new world of possibilities for customising your kayak.

By working with a skilled artist we are able to offer a unique and fun experience for customers looking to wow their paddling buddies. 

Original artwork is scanned onto a specially engineered cloth and then worked into the fabric of the kayak deck or/and hull.

The artwork is custom painted and the original will be presented to the customer as a signed original piece of art work to be displayed wherever they see fit.

From Sketch to Kayak:

Ideas, concepts and approval of final sketches

A digital breakdown of the art

The finalised design is then painted onto canvas before the finished painting gets scanned and printed

Patterns and stencils are cut by hand.

Atwork is laid in to the kayak

The kayak is laminated by expert craftsman

A unique kayak is born 

Finished painting on canvas is presented to the customer

The original artwork can then be framed if you wish

Our Artist

Julie Perren

Julie originally trained in Theatre Design and started painting scenery in London for the West End stage. She has worked on theatrical productions worldwide such as ‘Phantom of the Opera’ and ‘We Will Rock You’ for forty years. Alongside this freelance work she has always enjoyed travelling and took up kayaking twenty years ago after moving to the South West of England. She became an Advanced Sea Kayak Leader and Performance Coach working around the UK, Sweden, Norway and West Greenland. Julie has paddled SKUK kayaks for most of this time and been a sponsored SKUK kayaker for the last three years.

Julie always carries a sketchbook on her kayaking journeys to record the trips and to create water and ice themed comissioned paintings. Working on custom kayak artwork has been the perfect opportunity for her to combine kayaking and her painting!
